    Our management team includes individuals from Aboriginal/Indigenous backgrounds who have undergone specialized mental health first aid training tailored for Aboriginal communities. Additionally, our team has received internal cultural awareness training to ensure a deep understanding of Indigenous perspectives and needs. We actively collaborate with Aboriginal organizations, including the Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement (ALRM), fostering meaningful partnerships to support Indigenous communities.

  • Is SIL funding required to be specified in participants' plans?
    We require a minimum of 5 hours of daily support, which can be sourced from CORE funding. Our participants undergo a thorough matching process to ensure compatibility with their support peers. This careful selection approach aims to foster harmonious and supportive environments for all involved. For further information, feel free to contact our team.
  • How do you ensure successful participant matching for SIL placements?
    Our participants undergo a meticulous matching process, followed by a transition phase that includes meet-and-greet sessions. During this phase, participants stay overnight for a couple of days to familiarize themselves with the environment before fully transitioning. Furthermore, Fidens management collaborates closely with participant stakeholders to ensure that all staff are extensively trained to meet diverse participant needs and behaviours.
  • Do you have SIL cluster homes or stand alone homes?
    We provide both options! Additionally, the majority of our homes have been personally constructed by us, guaranteeing a superior standard compared to what most other NDIS providers offer. All our homes meet NDIS requirements essential for supporting participants with physical and mental health disabilities.   • How does Fidens assist incarcerated participants reintegrate into the community?
    Fidens takes proactive steps to support individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community. Our management team visits participants in the prisons to initiate the process and collaborate with organizations within correctional facilities. We organize necessary supports well before their release date and liaise with parole or community corrections to facilitate a seamless transition. This comprehensive approach ensures that individuals receive the necessary support and resources for a successful reintegration into society.
