Individualized Living Options (ILO)

An Individualised Living Option (ILO) serves as a support to assist you in determining your preferred living arrangements—where, how, and with whom you wish to live with.

The array of choices with ILO allows for the possibility of sharing your home with friends, housemates, or even choosing to live with a host family.

Our Process

The Individualised Living Option (ILO) at Fidens involves a two-stage process. Initially, the focus is on determining your preferred living situation—where and how you want to reside—and identifying the necessary supports for your chosen lifestyle, along with the individuals that will provide these supports.

In the second stage, the emphasis shifts towards establishing your selected living arrangement with the requisite supports. A crucial aspect of developing your ILO supports entails identifying your primary support figures, such as your host family or housemates, and determining any supplementary supports you may require.

Supplementary supports can take various forms, whether paid or unpaid, and may include neighbors, mentors, family members, or drop-in support workers that Fidens will be sure to provide.

Regardless of the specific home and support structure you choose, our ILO supports are designed to facilitate a lifestyle that aligns with your preferences and needs.
